Cave Story is non-stop vagina jokes.

Found a small glitch on the crab boss, an artefact of the boss guy when he's downed was left on the screen once he'd recovred.

I'm not sure if this sounds strange, but I enjoy playing your game, which isn't even complete, more than most other flash games.

And the way the two characters interact right before the giant crab battle is hilarious. You should just keep it how it is haha.

I've got a question, how'd ya learn actionscript? i'm having some problems getting started...

I downloaded a .fla of a game from Flashkit.com, then edited it loads to see what effect changing different script around, and changing certain graphics would do. Then I started readin shit on Newgrounds's AS:Main. It's an actionscript directory, you should bookmark it.

Been following this since the start and I reckon it looks great.

I reckon that money its good but I reckon the purple chips need to be made easier to read. Also now that the leeches are gone that crab battle is a bit dull, though with the leeches it felt a little intense.

Oh and I found a bug how I attacked the guy on the crab and the crab recovered while I was attacking it and made two copies of that guy which one stayed down.

The leeches are still there, and thanks I know about the glitch thing.

I really like the game so far. The first endboss is really cool and the hanging guy is also great. You should keep the coins though, it is ok, in my opinion. Also the poker-chips idea is neat. But maybe you shouldnt use walljumping that much or at least not in such silly places as the lighthouse or the crab. It is really hard to get to stay ontop of the lighthouse.

I agree about staying ontop of the lighthouse being hard, but you're not really supposed to stay there anyway. Actually I think I'll add a balcony around the top of the lighthouse for people to stand on.

I agree that I need to rethink the crab slightly so people actually know how to get up there.

CAVE STORY FTW.

It is one of the greatest games i have ever played.

pretty good game, really really good game actrully :D but there are some glitches still (stfu mofo its a prototype, yeah i know-_-)

anyways.
1. i bet your already aware of in the crap guy fight, when you hit him once, there is an image of him left behind, which you can hit and he still loses health which is a big boss glicth....also i think you should make it easier to get up to the boss to beat him up, instead of the way you have now, which is a pain in the ass.. also maybe you should include the light in the lighthouse as maybe a finisher, or a distraction for the boss, which could make the fight more.....dynamic...

2. i dont know if its intentional, but the rebounce when you fire your guns in the air, can make you travel a great distance(really long tbh).. i think its because you want him maybe(maybe got that from dmc? :3 ) to stay in the air for a while in fights, but you can travel a really far distance, firing your guns into the ground, dunno if that is a glitch tho.

3. the point/money system concept with chips is a neat idea, but i dont like the design on them. also it seems weird to pick up gold pieces and then they suddenly transforms into chips? maybe you either recolor them in gold? or just made the currency gold orbs or gold pieces.....

4. i liked the gundawg, yet i feel like its alittle to much of a ripoff of DMC4, but hey! its your game and call pal.

5. about the money thing, you could make it so the hero actrully needs those gold orbs in order to stay alive, because his body had a virus/demon or something, and that made him slowly dying(also that could be on hard move, where his health is rapidly decreasing so you have to defeat the enemies asap, in order to stay alive....could be fun imo.)

6. in level 2, you could make it so that you had to escape from the boss or desend in order to get close to him, and then fight him... maybe his firing some laser every 5 secs and you have to get lower in that time frame or you would get killed....

7. ..... cant think of anymore atm, but im sure something pops up....(cause i have no life ZOMG)....

1. Yeah I'm aware of that. I also need to redesign the way you climb up there. As for using the light in the boss fight; I don't think enough people would be able to work that out.

2. Yeah the gun thing is intentional. You used to be able to jump right passed the boat part, but I've limited it so it only works up to 5 shots, so you can't really cheat your way passed anything now.

3. I might redo the chips as money.

4. I really didn't notice I was doing it at first. It's totally different anyway, the DMC dog is an actual dog with no physical form of a gun, it just attacks by shooting fireballs out it's mouth. Mine's pretty much a revolver with legs that shoots a bigass laser out of it's face. Also it doesn't really run anywhere. I've got a history of personifying guns anyway.

5. No. I thought about it though for an extra mode or something.

New glitch... i played through again and this time started attacking the boss before the convo, after the convo the boss didnt attack me ever but could still be hit down and stuff. That happened + the dead guy glitch as well.

It was hard to position the trigger for that conversation in a place where the player could see the boss, but hadn't thought of attacking it yet. Thinking about it now, I just realised that the conversation should start if the player attacks the boss.

White is such a bland color for the life. Why not make a custom color for the main character and bosses?

cos it contrasts black better than any other colour
