IDEA!!! Why not have the spotlight be pointing towards the stomach with some sparkles n shit to give players a hint to hit the stomach.

Most players know that they're supposed to hit the stomach. It's just the wall-jumping up that people trip up on.

Okay ive been following this post for a while and decided to comment, awesome game so far btw. Oh well, wall of text incoming!

First things first, the sword special attack is overpowered as hell. I can play through all of the game using only that and never lose any HP. Just charge it up before you encounter an enemy, jump close (or inside them, like the gundog) and use it, so many/all swords will hit that the enemy dies right away. If they dont its just a matter of dodging for long enough to charge a second up. Also this special attack will piss all over the first boss, use one to get him weak, jump up, stand inside him and use it, he will bug out completely because all his health gets drained in one shot. First after giving him 1 stab (even though hes already dead and lying on the crab) the animation will play and you can progress.

The animation for when he K.O.s the crab-boss looks rather weird btw, it reminds me more of Crunchdowns art style than this games, are you done with that cutscene or do you plan to improve it?

I dont really like the chips, they dont fit in do they? I mean is he trying to support his gambling addiction or what? You need to pick something a bit less specific as the currency, using gold/money as you did before wasnt great but it made more sense than chips.

The first level is a bit short considering how many different enemies it throws at you (5 + 1 boss), the leeches and bats are the only enemies you really do justice, the others are reduced to 1-2 appearances in the whole level, could do with say 3 spinners and 4 of the big brown guys, 1 gundog is enough.

One more bug, if the cutscene does get triggered by the special attack the swords that didnt hit anything will freeze up on the screen while the scene plays. So you get maybe a half-cricle of swords that arent moving.

you should make the charge attack a little weaker, or make it so that way the charge disappears after getting hurt, because when i was fighting the giant crab i just had to keep charging, and then as soon as i released the charge, the crab was down. way too simple.

Will do. In the final game, you actually won't get that attack unless you really save up for it.

o ya and there's another glitch where if you do a lunge attack against the back of the revolver dog, than it turns it around (though i don't know why you'd want to do that, it would just point at where you want to go).

I should totally rewrite the dog's AI, it doesn't do anything.

Another bug, sometimes when you finish off the boss, it will freeze for 2-3 seconds instead of going to the cutscene right away. When the wait is over it will already have displayed the 2-3 first seconds of the scene so you end up just seeing a guy with a sword in his stomach, looks really awkward when the part with the stab etc got skipped.

I have a very nice laptop that is more than capable of running heavy flash so i can assure you this is not lag on my end, there is a weird delay there.

That's deliberate- It'll be more obvious once I put audio in.

You don't see an animation of the final attack, because you obviously just performed it.

Okay hm i was really sure i had seen him stab the guy in that cutscene at some point, but could just be me.

Anyway, sometimes when finishing him off, it will just go to the cutscene even though he might still be at 10% hp, i often experience that it just gets triggered when hes close. Not sure if its because i actually deliver the finishing blow but it just doesnt get counted on the bar.

This bug is really bad in cases where hes just about to go out of his weak-state. He was recently at 10%, i gave him one hit, he got up and i was falling down, he still had hp left and then the cutscene got triggered. Hes not supposed to be able to get up and resume the fight after i dealt the finishing blow.

Yeah I had that health bar problem at first with the player's health. I'll be able to sort that out.

ive got one idea for the how to get on top of the crab problem. you could have the crab's claws slightly jagged, so that when it collapses it makes sorta a staircase.

Most people have no promblem running up it, it's just the wall-jump part that's kind of unfair.

1. Chips show through the dialouge.
2. If you finish boss with a radial finish the mini red swords will still show through the final cutscene.

Other than that it's pretty cool.

mmmm,well i think you should add some 3D graphics to the type of money the character is gonna use in the game(wich could be represented by parts of the dead demons(like if you kill a scissor monster you obtain one blade,later you use 5 blades with the demon trader to obtain the sword named razorblade,or sumthing like that))

If you're talking about what I think you are- Having an inventory full of objects that you can later use to craft into weapons somehow- That's a good idea, but I'm not about to use it in this game.

First of all; that's really overly complex. Most people will play a Flash game for about 5 minutes AT MOST. I think that as soon as the player realised they were collecting more than one type of thing, they'd decide that they don't care. Using one universal thing like money is like OH I WONDER WHAT I'M SUPPOSED TO SPEND THIS ON. I'LL CHECK IT OUT LATER. Using a whole bunch of seperate stuff could lead the player like WHAT'S ALL THIS CRAZY STUFF I'VE GOT? HOW DO I USE THESE? WHY DOES MY GUY KEEP PICKING UP ALL THIS TRASH? I'LL JUST IGNORE IT, I'M NOT DIEING ANYWAY, or even worse: I DON'T HAVE TIME TO INVEST IN ALL THIS COLLECTING SHITE, WHAT OTHER GAMES ARE THERE?

Also I'm not having other weapons in the game. I've explained why in detail before if you wanna go back and find that.

Believe it or not, that's the actual new title of the game.

The bug with the red swords not disappearing after being used to finish off the boss, as reported by me and later BlueySciuto, also happens when you finish him off with a gun shot (the smoke from the shot stays during the cutscene).

Also on that note, even though the gun is pretty bad against him, if thats what you use for the last hit then the cutscene wont make much sense since well, a knife wasnt used.
