It started off with huge intentions but ended up a huge mess about 2 years later
Garuta, you may misunderstand the attitude in his "not giving a shit". It's about how there have been 666 problems that almost kept this game from working at all, and he's spent way too much time and energy on it already, and he finished it back in MAY before the sponsor sat on it for most of a year... so it's not worth turning back to anymore, no matter what may be wrong with it now. Give people the benefit of the doubt before you start hatin'.
I may be wrong, but I don't think only NG-sponsored games are allowed to have medals.
When you get a game sponsored by someone else, they don't want any other site havin an advantage over theirs. So that's why it can't have medals here, cos then everyone would play it here.

I think you aimed high, but the actual idea wasn't original. Its like The Dishwasher, its really well made but no one gives a shit about that game, because if you're competing with devil may cry and games like that.. people would just rather play dmc. Stength in indie games is we can try new, less explored ideas because we dont have the financial risk that the larger industry has and we dont have to work with 20ppl and publishers, so the original vision is more, "pure"... so id advise playing that to our advantage.
I too, do NOT want to be lumped into the "flash games" category, because its a joke. But theres such a big audience and potential for big bucks, just needs to be studied and thought over better, so you can have a game distributed with flash, online, but still have it considered a true, classic game. Difficult problem :/
Nah I don't buy that; loads of big indie games are games that allready existed.
Castle Crashers is basically River City Ransom n Alien Hominid's Metal Slug, Meat Boy's basically N, there's hardly anythin new about Spelunky (it's just good) and Cave Story's Metroid. You CAN make like Audiosurf or Tower of Goo or something weird but I don't think that's gonna make or break how good it is.
+I don't think that's why nobody likes this game.
INTERESTING FACT:
The game doesn't work at all in Google Chrome. Like at all. I really wanted to play the game though so I gave it a bash on firefox and guess what, it bloody worked!! You might wanna add that to the description or something.

i guess, each to their own. Theres no, one winning forumla. My own view is, its better to execute your own interesting ideas, than attempt to emulate something you cant possibly match. Its also simpler, more fun, and much more interesting to the players.
(ps- the titles you referenced were all based on things that they could emulate, small, indie titles, so they actually outdid their inspiration or did it justice)
