I'm actually really not interested in programming and totally put the effort into animaion. It's so annoying when people allways want to do collaborations with me where I do the scripting.

Yeah I realised that like four weeks ago but didn't feel like fixing it. Since then I've just bin kinda waiting for someone to notice.

boss 1 doesnt do shit now

level 2 if you push rectangle crate all the way to the left, you're fucked

It is cmpletely possible to get up if you push the box all the way to the left...I kept on messing up that last wall-jump part so many times that I should know...I made it up with the box all the way to the left multiple times. I have to say that I like the fact that the gun gives very minimal mommentum...just enough to be able to elongate you jumps...

2 things-
one...I agree, parts of level 2 do seem empty...
two...when you beat the second boss, it shows its death animation, then goes to the "banter" before the fight, then back to the death animation in a continous loop. Just figured I'd let you know if you didn't already.

What I expected everyone to do was to jump ontop of the box then look in the top-right of the screen and wall-jump up THERE.

I haven't made anything after the second boss, so that explains that.

The transition between the second level and the boss seems a little abrupt to me, through a door and straight to the area where you fight. Not a huge problem obviously and that may or may not be the final result.
But perhaps something could happen after you go through the door, such as the other side of the door being platformless and he simply drops down.
That point just seems a little empty to me.

Other than that the game is amazing so far, I always look forward to your development posts.

That part is kind of dumb. I should add a quick animation of him coming out of the door and seeing the boss.

PUSH IT ALL THE WAY LEFT

JUMP ONTOP OF IT

WALL-JUMP OFF THE LEFT WALL ONTO THE PLATFORM AT THE TOP-RIGHT OF THE SCREEN

The Good:
-Boss fights are original and interesting
-Enemies are unique, varied, and never cheap
-Cutscenes are well animated
-Combat and platforming are fantastic
-SSStylish!!

The Bad:
-Gun shots look a little wonky
-Still no death animation for Crawlers while they were on the ceiling
-Levels are short
-Gundog refuses to turn
-No more "Owie-Wowie" and stupid grin when you kill the second boss
-At level two with the second moveable box, once I had pushed the box up
against the wall there was only one way I could find to get up and it was a bitch:
1. Walljump off box and, using the gun to hover, go to the platform that is at the same height as the box
2. Gun-hover back over to the box
3. Walljump off the wall on to the top platform.

Overall it's turning out great, and I'll shit a chicken if this doesn't get over a 4.2

Why can nobody get ontop of the box? hold UP and LEFT and keep shooting down, you can wall-jump onto anything.

and what did I say about reporting enemy AI?

maybe u could go all megaman and have him get a new power (or be able to buy a new power), whenever he beats a boss. like for the second boss there's an upgraded gun, for the first boss theres either a lightning attack (sort of if you're able to charge ur sword up twice) or a leech attack

i also thought that the second level was done very nicely, and way longer than the first. i was hoping that the rest of the levels wouldnt be as short as the first cuz it was very short, but i also found that i had to use the forgotten upper'cut' (pun) move toget to some places, which really pissed me off til i remembered it.

enemy placement is very good, except for the first enemy. u probly already know this, but if you stand close to the boxes u just jumped over (second level), then u can shoot him without him doing anything to u. also when u got to the second gundog, i thought there was only gonna be one of those shadow demons, but then when that other one comes out im like, SHIT SHIT!

lastly, as i said in a previous post, it is possible to outrun the second boss and then it takes a while for him to get to u. and so like i said earlier, u should make it so that way hes never too far above the actualy frame itself.

I am not sure if that'll work out, but I'll try it. Oh- Actually I think he lags behind because the shooting animation is so long. So I'll make sure it skips that if he's not onscreen.

7 frames. It would be 4, but I had to miss out a frame every level. Otherwise the new camera position doesn't overwrite the old one.

Are you ever gonna release a demo on newgrounds? More people would see it on NG than on your devblog here......

No it's allready exposed enough. I don't want to release an unfinished game for that many people to play, and it wouldn't be as good when I brought out the full one.

Also, other sites would steal it, then it'd be really exposed and I wouldn't get a sponsor.

What i Would give for talent like yours.....

I think the problem with that box thing is that most people don't know how to do the "shoot and hold the arrow keys" wall jump. It's a tricky move, and until now its only been necessary to get some of the treasures. People expect that they're supposed to jump against the box, then against the orange platform, to get on top of the box. And I do agree that in my opinion the shooting jump is a trick that should only be used for "hidden" things... probably not for a basic part of a level. There should be an easier way to get on top of the box.

Besides that, I'm loving level 2. There's not much more that I can say; the game's incredibly fun. Can't wait to find out what the story behind all this is.

I might even put a smaller box on a wheeled trolley, and you have to push it over to a bigger box at the left, forming some stairs. That might be easier to follow. Also I think the middle platform is really throwing everyone off.

It's a good job I've got a devblog to find out shit like this.

That sounds great, but now I'm about to say exactly what you don't want to hear: more.

The first boss is broken for me as well; he just stands there facing away from the camera, glowing and attracting lightning and looking generally badass. I can still kill him the normal way, but he never walks around or or attacks. He's already looking like that as I first leave the lighthouse.

The stairs at the end just feel... wrong, how you can walk up but not back down. It sort of feels like I'm being cheated out of control of the character. Not sure how to fix it though, and it certainly isn't major.

I would hate to see all of these people play a zelda game. It's not that hard to jump onto a box!
