If you're on the internet and you like video games- You are probably bored out your face this week. I mean like nothin's goin on right? The next few days specifically it's just so quiet!
What better time to release internet video games??

QUICK SAND that platformer thing is out.
It's getting a really shit score, everyone hates the controls.
Here's a walkthrough, which OFFICAILLY is to help anyone with the game, but REALLY it's the wall-jumping is fine shut the fuck up.

Can't stand the sand game. Controls are a pain in the ass, way too fast, etc. April and Booster looks awesome tho!

I just edited it (it'll take like a day to update) so it kind of takes a sec to accelerate to top speed. I couldn't change it too much, because you have to still be fast enough to escape the levels.

if anything comes out wrong with A&B, it definately wont be the controls

Quick Sand is pretty good, although the controls aren't as tight as they should be... but the concept and level design more than make up for it! I enjoyed it.

And your sponsor is kind of a dick, making us wait all this time for the Legend of Johnny, which looks just amazing!

Oh come on! How can people hate the controls? I watched that youtube review video and I raged at the guy not being able to pull off the simplest wall jump ever; hitting the up arrow. I find the controls just fine. As always you made an awesome little game.

I've spent a fair time experimenting with platformer controls (in Game Maker, and nobody go looking for me releasing anything I'm lazy as fuck). I think the problem in Quick Sand was one I've seen around a lot: When acceleration is a lot faster than deceleration, it's uncomfortable to try to make precise movements. It's okay to have a system like that if you're mostly running in one direction all the time, but in games like Quick Sand (where you have to position yourself underneath a narrow tunnel going up) it gets frustrating. Fixing it so that acceleration is slower (like it sounds like you did) or so that you stop more quickly should fix the problem.

Yeah just replayed Quick Sand and it's like a million times better. I doubt you'll get nearly as many complaints about the controls now.

Also god I comment on your news far too much. Swear I'm not stalking you. I just bookmarked your profile back when you were doing that legend-of-johnny dev log, and haven't bothered to remove it yet. I should find some other developers to constantly heckle like I'm an idiot.

I was just thinking and realized a possible fix for your 'logo over gameplay' dilemma. (although it may be too late for Johnny) you can always throw a hud or border around the actual game, that way the logo can be in there and not covering actual gameplay. Not the most elegant solution, but a possibility none the less (if you hadn't come up with a viable solve yet).

Anyway, love quicksand and the upcoming games look great. Can't wait.

I did that, and I think it contributed, but didn't actually fix it.
The last thing I did was move the Newgrounds Connection component so it's visible onscreen, then it started working.

Still doesn't make much sense, but whatevs, now it works.

April + Booster looks sweet too, still looking forward Johnny the most though.

What are max games fucking about at? If they don't sort it out soon and you haven't yet been paid I would try contacting some other sponsors. I'm sure you'll get plenty of interest with the finished game and probably end up getting it out faster if you go with someone like Armor.

quicksand isn't a hard game and I don't think it needs a walkthrough but I guess alot of people are really, really, really... stupid. The only problem is the controls, I just played it today on June, 19. Did you fix the controls already because if you "fixed" them I would have hated to see what they were like before. They are still not very good and really bring a fun little game down. Slow the bitch down, I can't get up narrow walls!!!

I have to agree with Ditocoaf, they suck ass.

Im almost at a point where i dont give a shit anymore. Been waiting since around Oct 11th 2008, checking your profile almost daily for updates. Thats a long fucking time to wait for a flash game and a few months of that is just the dumbass sponsor jerking off with the swf on his/her own.

Is there any way to just skip the wait and play the game right now? Id be more than willing to pay you just so i dont have to wait anymore >_> Could even sign an NDA or whatever, as long as it means i get to play the game before i lose interest completely.
